should my friend ditch his $30 month cell phone plan for $88 phone and calling card plan?

TARGET has an $88 package right now, that includes a Nokia phone plus a $100 dollar calling card. My friend wants to know if he should ditch his current $30 a month plan and go for this Target $88 deal. He talks on his cell phone for about 10 minutes a day, if you want to know his average usage rate. Usually they consist of local calls; a call to the local town to see if their skating pond is open, a call to his mother to see what is for dinner, or a call to relatives to see if he can freeload on them for a few hours to watch international sports on their Cable TV for free. Should he go for this $88 deal??

(also, thanks to those of you that helped me out about seeing if a Vespa 150 would fit into the trunk of a Honda Accord from the 2002 model year)

Check the calling card rate. They usually charge an arm and a leg for the minutes on the calling card, so before your friend switches make sure it is a good deal indeed and not a gimmick. $30 a month sounds like a very good deal plus he can stay with this plan for as long as he wants. If he switches and then wants to switch back the same plan might be unavailable.
