Sidecar Vespa
vespa with sidecar how does it handle and what are some things I should know or ask the seller or dealer?
I own a motorcycle with a sidecar rig, you do have to ride them differently than a solo ride, mainly when making turns. If the hack is mounted on the right not much of a problem making a left turn. If no one is riding in the hack you need to take some care in making a right turn because it will tip upward.
If buying from a private individual or a dealer ask questions, if it's used, how often was it serviced? did they have any major problems with it? was it treated like a lady or a tramp? ( They'll most likely tell you, taken well care of, no problems and ALWAYS treated like a lady, even if it wasn't) Questions for the dealer would be, is there a warranty, if so what does it cover and for how long? what kind of tech support is there available?
I know there are things I'm forgetting but those are some of the ones I can think of right off hand. Good luck with your search, bikes with sidecars are a blast to ride, I'm sure you'll have fun riding if you get one. Take care and keep the shiny side up, Oh and ride'em till the wheels fall off.
