Vespa Polini Exhausts

vespa problems, please help!!!!?

i have a 1980 vespa90 which is getting on my nerves.
it has been fitted with a 110 polini kit,
the problem is when im riding on a nice open dual carriageway full throttle, usually id be going along at a nice 60mph.
but now!!!.........
it gets to about 50mph, then starts to chug, almost like its starved of fuel!
also, when im at lights it keeps almost cutting out, again like it hasnt got fuel so i need to rev the engine loads to keep it from switching off.
when im riding, i now dont get much of a sports exhaust sound but i get a kind of drone from the engine instead.
id appreciate any help on this. somebody mentioned something about a chip of some sort? does this sound right? does my bike have a chip? it isnt a new one and is kickstart only!!!!

that sounds like it could be right! there is a definate loss of power and as im not gettng that zippy sound from the polini it could well be some sort of blockage. i'll look into that! nice one!!

i dont think yours has a chip, i had one that had the same symptons as yours, i checked lots of different things but it eneded up being the exhaust. your exhaust may need taking off and de-coking i had carbon build up in exhaust port on the head. i cleaned it up and it was brilliant. hope that helps
