Vespa Engine What is to be done to my LML Vespa Scooter to make it faster and greater in looks?
I'm in India. I've a LML Vespa Scooter which is very old, bought in 1990's. I know nothing about vehicles. So, Can able to make it faster by replacing its engines/whatever and use some stickers and paint for a great look?

jet kit(or just a larger main jet),
lighter and more free flowing exhaust,
cut off parts you dont need to reduce weight
black for more menacing look - well as menacing as a damn scooter goes
I dont know how India is but, it's usually better to sell it and get a more powerful bike in US

The Vespa has evolved from a single model motor scooter manufactured in 1946 by Piaggio & Co. S.P.A. of Pontedera, Italy—to a full line of scooters and one of seven companies today owned by Piaggio—now Europe's largest manufacturer of two-wheeled vehicles and the world's fourth largest motorcycle manufacturer by unit sales.
From their inception, Vespa scooters have been known for their painted, pressed steel unibody which combines a complete cowling for the engine (enclosing the engine mechanism and concealing dirt or grease), a flat floorboard (providing foot protection), and a prominent front fairing (providing wind protection) into a structural unit.
Vespa is said to soon announce an completely electric scooter in the first quarter of 2012 according to sources. Vespa's parent company Piaggio is currently building and selling a hybrid 3-wheeled electric scooter called the MP3 Hybrid which has seen limited success in Europe.
The decision by Vespa to produce an (ecv) electric scooter is almost certainly a catch-up move after the announcements of both the Mini and Smart electric scooters in 2010. Vespa has reportedly been developing an electric model since late 2009 that will be based on the same platform as the LX 150 and will offer more power output from a single rear hub mounted electric motor and double lithium-ion battery pack.
The first model will be revealed in both Europe and the USA in limited numbers before being offered for sale in late 2012. The price is rumored to be in the 10,000 Euro range which is pretty expensive if you asked me. But I'm sure many enthusiast will undoubtedly fork over the cash for such a new innovative product. Motorized electric scooters are sure to become a hit in major green cities in the USA. Just like hybrid cars have exploded on in sales since they have been introduced in the last decade.

Vespa an italian built scooter manufactured by Piaggio. If you have ever seen any older European movies from the 60's I guarantee that you have seen when of these creations. Over the years Vespa's have evolved from single model scooters to a full line of scooters that will satisfy even the most picky consumer.
Vespa's have been a hit since the first one rolled off the assembly line. But now they are mostly known for the painted, pressed steel unibody that houses the complete engine compartment. The flatboard to keep your feet and a prominent front fairing (mainly used for wind protection).
In the 1940's the Vespa was used primarily for troops in World War II. The United States enjoyed these scooters because they were helpful in getting around Nazi defense tactics of destroying roads and bridges in the Dolomites (a section of the Alps) and the Austrian border areas.
With today´s gas prices it is no wonder why Vespa scooters are so popular after so many years of service. Suburbanites are looking for something different to entertain their weekends and for commuters who are tired of filling their gas guzzling vehicles. They also introduced a scooter with two wheels in front and one in back which grips the road better. This version of the scooter has taken off and is now being copied by motorcycle makers alike.
