Vespa 50cc Hi, I'm planning on buying a 50cc vespa, what rules would apply to me if i were to buy one? cheers?

I live in Central London
What i'd like to know is what you'd think my insurance would be for a Vespa? Also i passed my driving test in 2007, is there anything else i'd need, like a CBT or anything?

Strangely Twisted has got this a little wrong -
Up to 50 cc and restricted to 31mph it is a moped and in this case -
You do not need L plates
You do need a CBT (before you go on road)but it is everlasting for up to 50cc for a person with a car pass.
It needs tax and insurance
Over 3 years old it needs a current MOT
You can carry a passenger but with the lack of power and speed you really would not want to.
To legally carry a passenger the bike/moped/scooter must have a dual seat and have foot pegs for the passenger. You may have to specify with your insurer that you want to be able to carry a passenger as not all include it as standard.
Over 50 cc up to 125cc and maximum 14.8 bhp power output OR an up to 50cc NOT restricted to 31mph the following changes
You need L plates
You need a CBT and if not passed a full test by then it has to be repeated every 2 years
As you will have L plates you cannot carry a passenger

Michigan Age for driving a vespa under 50cc?

It used to be in Minnesota you could drive a scooter at like 15 before even getting a regular dl, don't think it's like that anymore.
Keep in mind anythign under a 50cc won't be able to go on even a main road that's like a 40-50mph road.
Some states if it's under 50cc you don't need a special license or even insurance, not sure about michigna though.
