Piaggio Spares Parts
I have a multiple MOT failure on my Piaggio X9 125cc?
The certificate refusal reasons are the following:
1. Offside Steering Lock stop ineffective (2.1.3)
2. Rear Brake Lever has inadequate reserve travel (3.1.3b)
3. Nearside front brake disc(s) has excessive run out (3.2.A1m) *
4. Rear brake disc(s) excessively worn (3.2.A11) *
5. Rear suspension bearing has excessive free play (2.4.A2a(i))
6. Roller brake test The less effective brake control does not achieve an efficiency of 25% (3.3.A2b) **DANGEROUS** *
Advisory Notice Issued:
7. Noisy Exhaust (7.1.2)
For 2, 3, 4 and 6 i have bought new brake rotors and new pads. So it should fix the braking problems, and possibly needs some bleeding as well.
What exactly is 5 and 1. How do you fix them? What do I need to buy as in Spare Parts.

1 means the side of the bike AWAY from the curb. the offside. the side nearest the curb is the nearside
but you may already know this :p
what it means is the front wheel is allowed to turn too far one direction, or the other. in this case its the direction of the offside. the "steering lock stop" isn't functioning properly when turning "lock to lock." you know how in a car you can turn the steering wheel one way, but just so far? well its the same with scooters. what #1 is saying is your wheel turns more then it should toward the offside of your bike
this can be a somewhat simple job, or more involved. some welding might need to take place, or at least some heavy duty nut and bolting. a hardware part probably needs to be replaced, and this can be done by ordering an OEM, or maybe something else that would work. you would have to ask around about your own bike and see what is possible
#5 i take to be a wheel bearing. if excessive freeplay is present it could mean a worn out bearing. bearings help stabilize your wheels and keep them moving smoothly. once worn out they will lose their effectiveness, and will become somewhat loosey goosey. this causes too much freeplay, and excessive freeplay causes wheel wobble and over all instability
here is a vid of a guy changing a wheel bearing on a motorcycle. as you can see for a person who knows what they are doing and with the right tools, its a no brainer job. your scooter wheels work the same way
