Piaggio Skipper Parts
My scooter has lowered it's speed all of a sudden ?
Hi all,
I have a Piaggio 125 ST Skipper, 4 - Stroke, 04 Scooter and Yesterday i noticed on the way to work that the speed has dropped by 5 - 10 MPH. I ride part of the way on an A road and the Scooter is only going to about 55 MPH. before it was going around 60 - 67 MPH. It has got considerably cold during the last few days and wondering if that is what is causing it. It feels like its trying to get the speed up but holds back. Its quite worrying as i have had a few bits done to it in the last few weeks, like a new CDI Unit, New Key, New Headlight Relay. It had its M.O.T last week as well and passed.
Any ideas??????????
any help is appreciated.
@ TXm42 ty so much for your answer but i did forget to mention that the Belt has been replaced with a new Piaggio belt, last week also when the MOT was performed.
check your oil. have your compression tested. and even though they said they changed your belt as the above poster mentioned it can cause a loss in speed. Id check the oil to ensure you havent leaked for some reason causing some wear on your rings. i see this happen all the time at my shop.
