Piaggio Hybrid Scooter

Any price and availability info on the Piaggio Hybrid Scooters HyS System bike for the USA market? ?

I know the 500cc runs about $9000 dollars! I also know that it was rumored to be available by late 2008. Piaggio has no info on the hybrid bike on their website! Also I do not see any pricing or availability info online for the US.
I am talking about the Piaggio MP3.

To the best of my knowledge the HyS was only a prototype slated for possible production this year, and all the information on the net about the bike is from last fall. Too bad, it was a great idea whose time has come, but will Piaggio get moving on it while gas prices are still high?
