Piaggio Electric Moped
My moped/scooter will not accelerate at first and will sometimes cut out please help?
My moped is a Piaggio NRG MC2 (1998).
Basicly, the engine starts first time by electric start with no problems, but when i go to accelerate by twisting the throttle, it will either cut the engine out totally or just not accelerate enough for the moped to even move. Usually, after about 5-10 mins of trying the throttle, it will finally work and then i can then drive away. It also will sometimes fail to accelerate for a short while when im riding, but usually only for about 5 seconds and then it will kick in again. When i stop at traffic lights etc. it may also stop accelerating and in some cases the engine will then cut out altogether.
As i do not know much at all about the mechanical side of mopeds, I would appreciate it if someone could suggest what the problem could be with it and what i could do about it. Thankyou.
Sounds like a dirty fuel line.
If you don't know what you are doing - buy a manual or take it to a professional.
