Motor Scooter Vespa Piaggio
Where can i get a good deal on a Vespa/Motor Scooter?
I'm am looking into getting a Vespa/ Motor Scooter. I was looking at the Piaggio FLY 50 for $1,899 / FLY150 for $2,899, I know there has to be a better deal somewhere. So if anyone knows of a good site or a store in NJ, let me know.
I just got those prices off the Vespa USA website...
if that's the msrp then just go to the dealer and ask for a better price. msrp is just a suggested price, not the price you will pay.

04 Piaggio Vespa Motor Scooter ET4 150 Video Tour
What is the best motor scooter?
I need one that can go at least 60 mph and can handle interstate travel. I was thinking about getting a Vespa GTS 250 or a Piaggio BV tourer 500.

First, for only $200 more you get an extra 34cc and 4 mph in the GTS300.
Second, I ride a 650 Savage with an 85 mph top speed -- and I have done long rides on the Interstates. You are NOT crazy to ride either scooter on the Interstates.
Either will handle Interstate chores, but the BV Tourer has a 20 mph advantage in top speed and a full gallon extra fuel capacity. 60 mph, 70 mpg, 2.4 gallons with the GTS300 and you are pushing a dead bike after 168 miles. But then, I only get about 150 miles to a tank and I manage to tour the West. My top speed is 85, only 5 mph faster than the Vespa and 15 mph slower than the Piaggio, and I've done back to back 500+ mile days on the Interstates. The extra capability of the Piaggio is *nice* but is not *required*.
How much Interstate will you be doing versus everything else? The Vespa is 90 pounds lighter than the Piaggio, easier to toss around on city streets. The Vespa is the Classic style scooter, the one everyone else copies. And why I would prefer the Vespa is that I could put 50cc emblems on it and 99% of people would think is it a little wuss. The perfect sleeper.
Bottom line, neither is best. Those who ride bigger bikes favor the bigger scooter. I ride what most consider a little wussy bike and I like the smaller lighter scooter. What you like depends on what weight you give to highway performance, city performance, economy, style, lighter weight....
