Sidestand Switch
virago 535 cuts out when i put it in gear?
sidestand is up, safety switch moves in and out but it was lying in garage for a few months not really sure what it is
new switch maybe
Try spraying your side stand switch with wd-40 and working it 20 times or so with your finger to free it up.If that doesn't work try bypassing it with a piece of wire or shorting it to ground whichever way works.

How to Remove the Hyosung Sidestand Switch
98' Honda CBR 600 FX won't start!?
Rode my Honda CBR 600 FX on 15mile run to work and on arrival put sidestand down while engine running(clutch in, 1st gear). As expected, engine cut out. Engaged neutral and tried to start but get nothing exept a machine gun sound effect from the device directly next to the battery. Battery since been fully charged but no difference. Fuel tank as good as full and kill switch off. All electrics fine (lights, horn). Tried starting with sidestand up and have cleaned the switch on the stand but still getting nothing but this rapid clicking from this thing next to the battery. Never done this before and I'm now stuck! Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Sounds like the starter solenoid has had it, unlike cars the solenoid that controls the starter motor is remote mounted next to the battery.
Before replacing it remove the two wires from it and give them a good clean with sand paper. Replace them and apply Vaseline to the connectors.
