What motorcycle should I get?

I don't mix well with cars.Between being hit by a semi, a train, sideswiped by a car, a couple of head ons and a few other fender benders, it's no wonder I don't drive anymore. Oh, don't get me wrong, I can drive, but just don't have a car at the moment. Doubt I will ever again. Oh yeah... hit twice by cars riding a mt bike.

I'm thinking a motorcycle should be the next transportation adventure. Anyway, I'm considering getting one in the Spring, either a 250 or 500 scooter (Piaggio or Vespa) or an enduro motorcycle. Starting my research now.

Any suggestions?
I guess it's really a choice between the thrill of power and speed vs. relative boredom, just putt-putting down the road at 30 mph.

First, with your history, should you be considering a bike? lol But perhaps those accidents weren't your fault.

Second, take the safety course or some instruction. You'll learn to ride, and you'll find out whether this is something you really want to do.

After that, you'll be more ready to pick one out. In the meantime, be thinking about what you want out of a bike. Do you want exhilarating rides on a bike that can read your mind and respond accordingly? Get a sportbike. Do you want longer comfy trips or even short commutes? Get a street/standard/cruiser.

Do you want mad power and acceleration (sport bike)? Do you want comfort but still a good bit of power and acceleration (anything but a twin)? Do you just want enough hp to get you going (twin)?

Once you've figured all that out, we can start recommending specific models.
