Adjustments needed after fitting shorter shocks?
Going to buy some (shorter) hagon shocks and I understand an adjustment will need to be made to the side stand. What does this involve and is it something you can do yourself or is it a workshop job?
Also with regards to dropping the forks, should this be the same amount to you lower the bike by or just trial and error and a bit at a time?
don't bend the kick stand as it is likely to put strian on the lug on the frame rather than on the stand it self and on top of that it will be bent out at an odd angle from the frame of the ER5 and will foul your foot and if you have a passenger get in their way also there is a risk of damaging the isolator switch.
First lower the forks through the stanchions but no more than 20 mm at the most, make up a guage from either light ally or ply to ensure the same height each side.
once both the forks are lowered and the shorter shocks fitted ( wouldn't have been my choice i'd have moved the mounts) hack saw through the stand approx an inch above the foot plate. then over lap the two using a couple of jubilee clips to secure and adjust height, once you've got the height right mark position of the two points as a reference, remove the whole stand and ger it welded at a local garage. remove the jubiliee clips brush, clean paint and finish refit.

Question about Twilight. . .?
Okay so I've read the Twilight series 3 times now. Mainly because as I was flipping through it I noticed little details that I had missed before. One of my questions wasn't answered though. It says that Edward lives right outside of Forks. Evidently what I pictured in my head of the land was backwards. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a map showing the treaty land on each side and Forks; I was confused because I had pictured Forks in between La Push and the Cullens' house but it said that Forks was neutral. Edward or Jacob could be there without breaking the treaty. Sorry if that doesn't make much sense but hopefully it does. Anyways, thanks for the help.
There is a map of Forks, La Push and the treaty on www.stepheniemeyer.com.
