Is the Sprint Cup nothing more than a weekly IROC series?
Think about it, everybody drives the same Crap Of Tomorrow. Identical cars, just different decals. Isn't that the very same premise as the IROC series? NASCAR as we once knew it is dead, R.I.P.
Amen to that my friend. Its 43 guys racing spec cars where NASCAR determines every little thing you can do to them. NASCAR says they stand out from all the toher series because they dont plug their cars into computers like the IRL and Formula one, but atleast those series dont produce identical race cars and allow their teams to try new things.

How long will Sprint sponsor the Cup series?
Does Sprint have a contract with NASCAR for a number of years as sponsor of the Cup series, or is it a crapshoot as to how long they'll be around?
The reason I'm asking is because I want to order a yellow Dell Inspiron and slap a Sprint Cup decal in the middle. If they're likely to bail out after a couple years, I don't wanna do that...

They have a contract. However there are rumors that AT&T will buy them.
AT&T is still mad that Sprint is trying to force them to stop sponsoring the 31 car. They could use Cingular but they got rid of that brand when AT&T bought them so that would be a waste of money. NASCAR is struggling to find sponsorship and now they turn away someone that wants to be involved.
