Why eat my scooter 2 stroke spark plugs?
My 66 Triumph 100 cc 2 stroke scooter to 1600 ml on the clock will only run on a new plug for maybe 50 miles before it starts to malfunction in the operation slow and it is hard to start. The plug is burned dried coffee and no significant deposits. Fitting a new plug will solve all problems. I run it in the most high-octane fuel available at the pump to a mixture of 40 / 1. please help.
try a little "hotter" plug ... perhaps up or down a number depending on what brand of plugs use

If it's fine in the afternoon, it's probably an electrical issue. Check for a healthy spark from the plug, check to make sure all electric are connected firmly to stop water getting in.
