Alarm system!!!?

there have been some houses getting broken into in my house. during the day noone is home and i put the alarm on. Do you think if someone trys to break in the person would run right away or steal some stuff first because we all know it take the police forever to get there.

An alarm system is only a deterrent for any thief. If they want something bad enough, they will manage to get it. For the most part, a loud audible alarm might scare a possible thief away. If you have one of those ADT systems installed, you have your Private Security Officers that come to your house in case of a break in. It will cost you though. I don't know what kind of system you have, but it sure wouldn't hurt to have a loud siren or alarm go off to alert your neighbors. This could help. I have my house surrounded by lights and audible alarms that are controlled by motion and heat sensors, plus ultrasonic alarms to keep animals from setting off some alarms. During the day time, you can also turn ON a Radio or TV by a timer so as to make it seem like someone is inside. I also modified my light switches with jacks so I could turn ON any light in any room with a 115vac DPDT relay connected to a digital timer. You can set up to 7 settings per day per week. Makes it look like someone is home at night. Good luck.
